We are on the lookout for a Donor Retention Specialist to join the Individual Giving team and ensure a smooth donor experience through personalised communication and donor growth and engagement initiatives.

We are looking for someone to be based preferably in Auckland, but candidates from Wellington and Christchurch are also welcome to apply.

As the Donor Retention Specialist, you will be hands-on in executing, engaging, retaining and developing strong relationships with our donors to contribute to the overall success of UNICEF Aotearoa’s fundraising efforts.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Execute agreed strategies across various channels aimed at increasing donor loyalty, donor engagement and donor lifetime value.
  • Execute the creation and distribution of impactful donor stories and various donor materials.
  • Implement agreed donor journey plans and personalised marketing segments
  • Utilise data analytics to measure the effectiveness of donor impact communication efforts, identifying successful strategies and areas for improvement.
  • Analyse donor data to understand attrition pain points, assess the efficiency of retention efforts, and identify opportunities for enhancing donor journeys and marketing strategies.
  • Coordinate logistical arrangements for Individual Giving donor events and/or work with event agencies. Where feasible, seek synergy with other teams, such as the Legacy team or the Strategic Partnerships team, to maximise impact through shared event initiatives.

As the successful candidate, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in relevant field.
  • 3 years of experience in marketing/communications/sales/fundraising.
  • Demonstrated expertise in copywriting and content creation.
  • Experience with marketing automations (ideally HubSpot or similar marketing solution).
  • Design and or photoshop experience preferred.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail, flexibility, and reliability.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
